The action movie star has amassed an impressive net worth of $570 million, and that’s probably only going to keep growing as he stars in more films. His money earned through box office smash after box office smash means he can buy just about anything he could ever want.
Cruise is fond of adventure and buys himself some impressive toys like motorcycles, cars, and even fancy vacations. He is one of the top earning stars in Hollywood, and that has allowed him to live in a lovely home. The actor built himself a compound in Colorado which is now estimated to be worth $59 million.

Cruise didn’t become one of the richest actors in history by appearing in a few average films. No, Cruise has become such a big star by featuring in some of the most iconic movies of all time. His credits are impressive and include; Mission: Impossible, Top Gun, Rain Man, Minority Report, The Last Samurai, and Jack Reacher.

Cruise has become the go-to guy when studios want a movie to do well at the box office, and that means the actor gets paid huge sums. He mostly keeps his private life a secret, but many of us know all about his religious beliefs and the church that he follows. His private lifestyle doesn’t always keep him out of the headlines however.

Keeping to himself

When Cruise burst onto the scene in the 1980s, he discovered that there was a lot of unwanted attention on his private life. If the action star was ever going to be able to live his life on his terms, he had to get away from it all. That’s why he bought and created this compound during the 1990s with his then-wife, Nicole Kidman.

Since then, Cruise went on to marry Katie Holmes, and they introduced their child, Suri, to the world in a photoshoot done inside this home. Where could be more out of the way for the private star than up in the Colorado mountains? His house is nestled in isolation in the mountains of Telluride.

A home for all seasons

Cruise has actually tried to offload this home twice before but wasn’t willing to part with it unless someone matched his asking price. The actor was demanding $59 million for the property, and he believes it is really worth that much because of what the new owner would be getting. There is 298 acres of land for Cruise to enjoy and the main home spans 10,000 square feet.

That’s not all though, and there is a three-bedroom guest house, library, swimming pool, sports court, and of course, a gym for Cruise to workout in. One of the best things about the house is that it’s great to live in all-year-round as each new season brings a different landscape.

As private as can be

Although there is plenty to enjoy around Tom Cruise’s compound, the most important thing it seems for the actor was privacy. He was pretty much one of the most famous people in the world during the ‘90s, so he needed somewhere he could call home that didn’t have paparazzi camped outside.

If anyone was getting a shot of Cruise at home in this property, they were literally going to have to camp out as it’s more or less in the wilderness. Cruise didn’t want to stick around Los Angeles any longer than he needed to and would retreat to his home in the woods to get away from La La Land.
