These People Didn’t Quite Get What They Paid For

There is only so much we as people can endure before we take out our phones and document the wrongdoings that take place to us or around us. These people did just that. Whether it is ordering something and finding that it not only came up short but was downright wrong, or a product that left one in a very different state than advertised, these people have every right to demand their money back all day every day. Hopefully, no one was truly harmed in the making of these hilarious images and that those who sold the products or goods in question will learn a lesson or two about fulfilling orders in a way that is fitting to the way they show it. There is nothing worse than ordering that double big Mac that is shown as this tower of meaty goodness and end up getting two dry patties on a miserable little bun – we call that false advertising. There are far worse things to happen and we managed to find quite a few of them right here.

Swings and Roundabouts

When this family finally found the house they dreamed of with a garden big enough for their children to have a mini-park, they were quick to jump online and order a swing from their youngest.

Swings and Roundabouts

Waiting for the package to arrive they were confused when the delivery man stole there holding nothing but a tiny box. Confused, they opened it and it found this hilarious teeny tiny children’s swing! Guess they’ll be sending that right back!

What the?

Punch bags can be great for fitness as well as releasing tension and this husband wouldn’t stop asking his wife for one until she finally gave in. Hoping his phase wouldn’t last, she didn’t invest a lot of cash in his new toy.

What the?

She was quick to regret it though when he found out that his wife made a cheap investment. After a couple of rounds, the bag split, leaving rubbish all over the floor.

Bait and Switch

Okay, so there are just somethings that you cant buy online, because although they may seem really cheap online, most of the time they are counterfeit. iPad and iPhones are perfect examples.

So the next time you see an Apple product for sale online that is just a fraction of the price you better beware. Unless it is out of date or damaged, it’s highly likely that its some kind of scam. That is exactly what happened with this savvy online shopper who got scammed by this convincing iPad box.

Fashion Icon

When you look at the picture online, there is nothing suspicious about these stylish shoes. However, the things that were delivered look completely different.

In fact, the shoes that were delivered cannot even be considered shoes. It seems someone pieced together some Frankenstein shoes and sold them online. We would hate to be the person who ordered these shoes online and instead received these.

And the rest?

Now there’s nothing like when your favorite sweets up the anti and make their packets bigger and that’s exactly what Skittles did. Wanting to give their customers more for their money, they introduced these new boxes.

And the rest?

Although all is not as it should seem! When this customer opened the box and pulled out the contents, he found less than half a bag of sweets! And if he’s anything like us, he’ll also be annoying at the lack of red skittles.

Wedding Dress Blues

No matter how good a deal you think it is, buying a wedding dress online is never a good idea. First, you never get to see the dress in person so there is no way to tell what it will look like on you. Secondly, shopping for clothing online is never a good idea.

There are too many horror stories about clothes not being as advertised. When this bride saw the perfect dress online for the perfect price she just couldn’t help herself and ordered it. Sadly for her when the dress arrived it looked nothing like the advert and it also didnt fit. Luckily she still had time to get another dress but we are sure this is not a mistake she will make again.

Salad style

This restaurant was trying to be creative, we get it. However, essentially giving a patron a lettuce bunch to dip in their Caesar dressing does not make for a Caesar salad. They were smart in making the croutons into a napkin ring type of situation, we will give them kudos for that for sure.

There is no excuse, however, to give a diner such a plate and have the audacity to charge them for it when it is nothing more than leaves and some dressing. If we got this on our plate, we would first laugh, then photograph, and then send it back.

Cheetos for days

We would not constitute this as a fail but would absolutely love to get a giant long Cheeto in our bag! This lady does not look impressed but we certainly are.

There is someone in the Cheetos factory who was decidedly lazy with cutting or separating or working the machine that does that, but we would not have this wonder of an image if they were paying attention so we are okay with it.

Layering disaster

This layering disaster warrants one angry client and a huge warning to others to make sure that the stylist they go to has a portfolio she can show you before you let her take a scissor to your precious hair.

The only way to salvage this mess is to cut it all into a single layer, the shortest layer, and that would leave this poor woman with a seriously short bob. This is just painful to see.

Red sauce

This person ordered their pizza from Dominos. They did not ask for no cheese on their pizza despite the fact that when it arrived and they opened the box, there was zero cheese to be found. There is something unsettling about seeing a pizza without cheese on it, almost disturbing.

We would equate this to seeing a burger without a bun, or a taco without the tortilla – it is downright unnatural, guys. We sincerely hope that the individual who ordered this pizza called in and asked for another order and a refund for this terrifying display of pizza failure.

Dog Bed?

Getting our first apartment is always exciting but we’ve all felt the struggle of furnishing your new humble abode with limited dollars. The internet can often be a great place to nab yourself a bargain and that’s exactly what this guy thought too.

Dog Bed?

However, it was a different story once his new couch arrived. It may be amusing to us, but it certainly wasn’t to him! Maybe his dog can have it?

Family Pool

When this husband and wife spotted a paddling pool online that was reasonably priced they immediately ordered it. The shipping took a little longer than they were used to but the pool had been such a bargain they just couldn’t complain.

Finally when summer arrived so did their package and instead of finding their kid’s dream paddling pool, they found this. Immediately they realized why it had been such a bargain and instead of the kids being able to swim that summer its seems the dog got his very own pool to ride out the heatwave.

Doll Size

Some things are just too good to be true and this is exactly what happened when these roommates found a killer deal online. IN order to save some cash the roommates decided to buy a tv stand
online.

Sadly though they didnt check the dimensions and when their furniture arrived they realized that instead of saving money on a tv stand they had overspent on a dollhouse tv stand. It just goes to show, always check those dimensions and if there aren’t any dimensions listed then its probably too good to be true.

How ’bout trout?

When you have a short time frame to cook and then eat, these ‘ready to eat’ packs are really great. Wanting to cover both lunch and dinner, this guy bought this ‘Hot Smoked Rainbow Trout’ from his local grocery store.

How ’bout trout?

Once he got it back to the office, he realized he must have lost the other half on the way from the store?! They might list all the things that are good about the fish on the packaging but the sure forget to mention the lack of fish included!

My Milkshake

There are some things you cannot expect to be delivered to your door in one piece, but a milkshake is not one of them. So decades restaurants have been selling milkshakes in to-go cups, but for some strange reason, this restaurant must not be aware.

When a customer ordered a burger and a shake online through a popular app, this restaurant decided the best way to deliver the shake would be to pour it into a plastic container. Honestly, we cannot figure out what they were possibly thinking but at least they included a straw.

Poker Deck?

Ready for a weekend away with his friends for his bachelor party, this guy wanted to make sure he had everything he would need for one wild (cough), we mean a civilized weekend away.

Poker Deck?

Preparing to take all his friends’ money through cards, he purchased a new deck online when he couldn’t find his existing one. Arriving in an envelope, he had no idea what he had received until he opened it and discovered this ant size deck of cards.

Expensive Rug

When you shop online you should ALWAYS check the dimensions of the thing you are buying. In fact, we cannot stress this enough. Sadly this guy had to learn this important lesson the hard way when he spotted this Persian rug online.

When the description said that it was handcrafted he really thought it was an authentic rug. Sadly when the rug arrived, instead of a life-size rug he discovered he had paid the full price for a hand embroidered rug for a doll’s house.

New chairs

A couple had just moved into their first apartment together and was gifted this wooden table by one of their friends, however, it came without the chairs. Going with a monochrome feel, they went online and ordered two black chairs.

New chairs

By the time they saw the package, they burst out into laughter, realizing they’d been had! As you can see, the chairs were slightly smaller than what they were hoping for.

These Boots Are Made For Walking

Sadly this girl’s Halloween plans were ruined when her shoes arrived. It seems that whoever sold them to her was an expert with a lightbox because they were able to snap pictures of these mini boots that made them look real.

We don’t understand the people who run these scams online. It seems like so much work for so little reward. Look at the detail that went into making these perfect little boots. It would have been easier to sell the real thing.

Ham Sandwich Epic Fail

In this case, it is the lack of filling that we are here to discuss. This poor unsuspecting customer bought a pre-packaged sandwich only to open the package and see that the deli meat inside
was not even covering 20 percent of his poor sandwich.

There is no vegetable insight, not to mention some form of condiment making this sandwich edible. We would definitely be the ones going back to the counter and showing this to the cashier.

Casual

This guy is pulling off this shirt like nobody’s business, but it is far from what he thought he was ordering. The image to the right shows the shirt he thought he was buying, while the one on the left shows how it fits him in real life.

We have to say he is working it well but we also know this is not what he had in mind and should have therefore asked for a refund.

Oh Mother!

You have to be a smart shopper if you plan on shopping online. Being aware of all the scams and mistakes means you need a lot of online shopping experience. Sadly this is not something all generations have and often our parents fall in some of the more obvious online shopping traps.

Take this mom for instance. Instead of getting new deck chairs, she ended up getting these sweet dolls deck chairs. Keep in mind if you are ordering something heavy like furniture online, the shipping is going to be insanely expensive. So be wary of any deal you see that involves furniture.

Side look

From the front, this sandwich looks like the best chicken salad sandwich around. However, when the diner here at Starbucks turned the sandwich to the side, you see that the majority of the filling is in the center of the sandwich and the edges are totally without filling.

That is such a disappointment considering that is the best part of the sandwich and Starbucks usually gets it done better than this. We thought we knew you, Starbucks.

Literally

Someone took the printing job a little too literally. This is very misleading, we have to say. If we were to see the top image and receive the bottom as the product, we would definitely feel a certain way about it.

Needless to say, if we were to get this mug (and we sure hope the person who really did get it did this) we would send it back and demand a refund without blinking.

Haircut

Many people have a fear of their hairdresser getting scissor happy on them and overdoing the cut they want for themselves. However, this is a whole new kind of terror – having your hair cut unevenly. You do get what you pay for so we can only assume this guy went to a dollar hair shop (which is not an excuse considering they are professionals nonetheless).

If we were him, we would have run out of the shop, gone home and shaved our heads until it all grew back evenly and we would go somewhere different and more reputable to get our hair tended to.

Saucy situation

We are not sure how this even happened. A guy walked into a McDonalds and ordered chicken nuggets, only to go home and open up the meal and see that there were no nuggets to be found, rather a container full of tartar sauce. This had to be a joke on behalf of one disgruntled McDonalds employee as this is a mean trick to play on someone.

If this happened to us, we would have made the effort of driving back to the McDonalds in question and show them the nugget box so that we could hopefully get the box of 20 as compensation.

Rib

There is something about McDonald’s and their employees that fails picture gold. In this case, a man ordered a McRib, only to open it up and see that while there was the sauce, there was no rib!

We love that everything is indeed made to order, but there is no excuse for forgetting to add the main part of the dish into it! We know that this is no Michelin star restaurant but there is a minimum at McDonald’s too.

Scissor happy

This poor little doggo did not wake up one morning thinking he was going to get this much of a haircut, and we are pretty sure that neither did his owner.

The groomer in question somehow managed to make this dog look half its size, yet we are not hating on it – just look at those ears! The owner should demand her money back anyway, though, since there is no way they wanted that kind of haircut.

Sizing

So this guy thought he was buying a lifesize pair of pants when this little thing arrived. These pants are more suitable for a Ken Barbie doll rather than a human man.

He may have not read the fine print or perhaps he was duped, but this guy should get his money back since there is no way to wear such a tiny amount of fabric. Given his look, he knows how difficult it would be to get into those pants.

Red

This could be a reaction that this girl is unique forgetting, but either way, you slice it, she did not get what she bargained for when she used a Lush product.

This young woman got all kinds of red thanks to the cream and she does not look at all too pleased about it either. We take that back, she is not red, she is a bright pink that looks super painful to the touch.

Flower power

When one orders a bouquet of flowers for another person, even if it is a minimal style and modern in design, they never expect to get a literal bunch of green onions as their flower arrangement.

If this person did not call to request a refund, as well as leave a scathing review for the flower shop then he is far nicer than us any day of the week. At the very least they could have mixed in some daisies!

Surprise fail

When Nicole Davies of the UK wrote a note to the delivery company she did not expect them to fail so hard that they would place the note about her mother’s surprise party atop the box she had ordered.

The note was specific in its reasoning and all we can do is hope that the daughter was home to get the package and not her unsuspecting mother. Way to go delivery service, you may have ruined a birthday!

Written word

The employee at the cake counter had one job to do and he managed to take it just a little too literally. Adam sure did have a sweet birthday with this cake but the blue flowers would have sufficed without the written description of it on the cake as well.

While this is a funny situation to be in, we still think the person in charge of getting the cake should demand his or her money back.

Grey

Someone got bamboozled here. A woman thought she was ordering a copy of the book Fifty Shades of Grey when she received this piece of paper in the mail instead.

She should have known that when you buy something on eBay you do not always get what you think you are ordering, and this is the exact cause of such an instance. She should have asked for a refund, but also laughed at herself quite a bit.

Naming game

Starbucks is notoriously bad at getting people’s names right on their coffee order, that is a fact. However, how could you possibly think that someone’s name is Ebola?

We would first not drink the coffee since the name on it is far from appetizing, but also proceed to laugh for a while at how someone could get a woman’s name so wrong considering her name was Alona, not Ebola. This employee should have made a new one for dear Alona.

Dating

While this is not a cool thing to do, this woman is brilliant and we have to tip the hat to her (pun intended). Her idea of scamming men into sending her $5 is great advertising if we have ever seen it.

The fear of missing out is real for people and their sense of curiosity was bound to be their downfall. What we are more interested in is who sent the girl $10?

Ronaldo

We are not sure who paid for this statue of the famous soccer player Christiano Ronaldo but we are sure they need to get their money back as soon as possible.

This statue makes the good looking guy look scarier than most horror film characters. In the image to the left, you can tell he is not all too happy with how it turned out. The image to the right is far too close for comfort.

Almost nailed it

This is the classic case of unmatched expectations. Colleen Kane was very upset to get this flower arrangement as it looked nothing like the image in the flower shop’s website.

The lion looks more like a disturbing image and not like the cute face that it should be. We sure hope Colleen called to get a refund from 1-800-Flowers, we certainly would have. She took to Facebook to vent so maybe they were wise enough to make amends.

Cheesy

You think you are getting a great gift but then you open it up and see that the score you thought you were getting is nothing like you imagined. Cheating someone out of cheese is one of the greatest offenses we could think of, it should be a real crime!

Truthfully, we would have gone back to the store to complain and ask for our money back if this were us and we can only pray that this person did the same.
