The Top Resort of 2019 Is… Tulemar Resort

Tulemar Resort is nestled amongst the rainforest in Costa Rica with its own private beach in the 33-acre property it is set on. It is the kind of resort a guest does not need to leave. But why was it named one of the overall best resorts by multiple sources?

The Villas and Bungalows

Each of the villas and bungalows has been designed to look like something out of the pages of Architectural Digest and most of them feature their own private pools. The villas, like the PazAmore are designed so that entire families can come and vacation together all while being in the middle of the jungle. The suites that are situated in the Mirazul villa offer gigantic panorama windows that give guests views over the rainforest and all the way out to the ocean. Simply put this is the kind of place that is begging to be photographed.

Conservation

Costa Rica is known for being home to some very rare animals and with so much of the rainforest being subject to deforestation a real effort has been placed on conservation. Tulemar has made this a priority when it comes to building their eco-friendly villas. But to take things one step further a non-profit organization called The Sloth Institute is actually within the Tulemar property itself. Guests can visit the Institute to learn about conservation efforts and go on guided hikes with the staff to learn about the plight of Costa Rican sloths.

Amenities

With a private beach within walking distance guests can leave their rainforest centered villas and meander down for a kayak or a boogie board which is included in the cost of staying at the resort. For those that don’t want to walk there is even a shuttle service. Another feature that has made this resort stand out is the fact that there is an adults-only pool. They have designed the resort to be family friendly but for couples or singles looking for some peace and quiet, there is a designated area where no loud children can interrupt a leisurely dip.

Dining

There are three restaurants for guest to eat at which offer Italian cuisine, traditional Costa Rican fare, and a tiki-themed bar for those wanting the smooth beach vibe. But one option that a lot of guests particularly enjoy is that a private chef can be hired to come to your villa for a special evening with a loved one. Or if there are certain dietary needs that must be met a private chef can prepare each meal. This one’s for the celebrities out there we imagine. The most amazing thing about this resort though is that the prices are not astronomical, a suite can be found for around $250 a night.
