Burano, Italy

There is a charming and picturesque little island just a short boat trip away from Venice. Burano is a smaller and quieter version of the bigger city. It has rows of two-story buildings in contrasting colors that border both sides of the canals. Follow the emerald green canals to the famous Leaning Bell Tower of Burano and marvel at such a curiosity. If you like to take photographs, this island will be the perfect muse.

Isle of Skye, Scotland

The Isle of Skye is just off the north west coast of Scotland and it has one of the most breathtaking landscapes of the country. It’s like a magical daydream; misty and green fairy tales with princesses, knights and dragons. You can take hikes by the lakes surrounded by mountains and marvel at the most beautiful pink and purple sunsets. The coastal towns and the charming locals will welcome you with open arms.

Sintra, Portugal

This incredible romantic city in Portugal will capture your heart forever. It’s snuggled between the evergreen Sintra Mountains on one side and the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean on the other side. The city harbors centuries-old romantic architecture along with Medieval castles, detailed statues and colorful frescos. Don’t leave without visiting the mysterious Initiation Wells; two wells that resemble underground towers with galleries lined with stairs. They were used for ceremonial purposes, not for water.

Hvar, Croatia

Croatia is a country by the Mediterranean that has become very popular in the past few years. Hvar island is still relatively unknown to mainstream tourism and is full of terracotta roofs, hilltop fortresses and mystical churches. Surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, the island is lined with paradisiac beaches and as you go inland you are greeted by the green scenery and lavender fields.

Slovenia is another country by the Mediterrean Sea that is full of hidden gems. Bohinj is located in the serene valley of the Julian Alps and it’s full of big lakes, smokey blue mountains, and National Parks. Take the cable car up to the top of Bohin Basin and watch the beautiful landscape. Or go hiking through the Triglav National Park and wonder at the majesty of beauty.
