Man takes revenge on neighbor who always blocks his parking spot

If you own a car and live in a big city, finding a place to park can be difficult. You have to drive around the block a few times, look for areas that have a space you might be able to squeeze in to, and if you still can’t find one head to a parking garage. For one thrifty neighbor, they decided that the perfect parking spot was in a not so convenient area. Eventually, the neighbor who found his not so considerate neighbor’s car parked a few too many times where it should not have been, had enough. He was going to take matters into his own hands to fix a problem that was happening almost daily.

The Redditor In Question

This story first started making the rounds in 2018, when a man who is only known as u/AngryAussieGam3r decided to post about his problem. As a mechanic, he often needed the parking space which was supposed to go with his business, but more often than not someone was parked there who should not have been.

He simply could not handle how rude he felt his neighbor was being, and wanted the Reddit community to weigh-in.

The Parking Garage

u/AngryAussieGam3r was lucky enough to live in an apartment building that had an underground parking garage. This meant, that for his own personal use, he always had a sport to park his car in. The only issue was that sometimes when it was time to go out at night, or head to work in the morning, that someone had decided to park in front of his car.

Everyone pays for their parking spots, but this person was rudely boxing him in because they did not have their own spot. It was infuriating to this user, how could this person knowingly do this, and make it impossible to take his own car out?

Boxed In

As u/AngryAussieGam3r had had a long day at work, he felt like hitting the town with his closest friends would be a good way to let off some steam. However, there was no way he was going to be able to drive himself to get to where he needed to be.

The driver of the car that had boxed in his own was nowhere to be seen. u/AngryAussieGam3r called one of his friends and explained the situation. They quickly rushed over to pick him up, that way their night would be uninterrupted and hopefully, u/AngryAussieGam3r would be able to forget about it for an evening.

A Feud Starts

Since that fateful night, when he was first boxed in, u/AngryAussieGam3r thought that it could be a one-off. Alas, it was not. Throughout the next few weeks, this car would randomly park in front of him, and it was always him. He decided to go the normal route, leave a note on the windshield explaining how the driver was inconveniencing him.

They all went unanswered and the car continued to park in front of his. It was driving him wild, how could this unknown person be so rude. He would have to devise a way to take care of this problem himself.

A Theory

As the weeks passed, u/AngryAussieGam3r came up with a theory for why this mystery driver was so awful. He thought it was someone who lived in his building or was dating someone in the building. The reason they always parked badly in front of his spot was that they had a drinking problem.

They could not figure out where they were supposed to park, which meant they simply parked in the closest spot available. Unfortunately, the spot just so happened to be in front of his car. He wasn’t sure if his theory was correct, but he didn’t think he was that far off the mark.

A Different Strategy

In an effort to be creative, u/AngryAussieGam3r began to research how other people had dealt with this problem. There were a ton of instances of what they had said in notes, or how they had waited in their cars to see the culprit and confront them.

The idea of shaming the driver via notes was not working, but he decided it was time to get creative. He was going to make sure this bad driver knew the difficulties he had been causing him.

Being Late

As a mechanic, u/AngryAussieGam3r knew just how important being on time for work is. If he had a big job that he needed to complete, showing up late was going to set back his entire team.

This could lead to a loss in revenue, and some bad reviews regarding timely service which he definitely didn’t want. Not being able to move his car though, meant that he was late on more than one occasion which was unacceptable.

A Big Event

As Australia is a rather big country, it was not often that u/AngryAussieGam3r and all of his friends from across the continent got to meet. This meant that they would try and plan an annual guys trip together.

They would choose a cool destination, head off in one of their cars and hit the open road. This year though, there was a problem. Can you guess whose car was supposed to be used for the road trip?

The Road Trip

The date was set, the boys were coming, and all u/AngryAussieGam3r needed to do was clean out his car and get it ready for the trip. However, he had no idea if the morning of the trip would dawn and he would be boxed in or not.

If he was, they would not be able to leave early and beat all of the weekend traffic. That would delay them, and they would not be able to spend as much time together as they wanted to.

Time To Get Serious

u/AngryAussieGam3r had tried to deal with the problem himself, but he figured it was time to get the proper authorities involved. He called up the building manager and explained what was happening. The manager listened but was largely unsympathetic to his plight, which just infuriated him.

To make it even worse, when he asked who the car belonged to, the manager refused to divulge that detail. It was time to get serious about fixing this problem.

Time For A Tow

This was no longer a situation that u/AngryAussieGam3r could deal with on his own. He needed someone to understand that what was happening was wrong. That was where he hoped, a towing company could help.

He rang them up, and explained where the car would be parked on the third floor of the parking garage. Unfortunately, they were not able to tow a car unless it was on the first level, which brought him back to square one.

Getting To Work

As an auto mechanic, u/AngryAussieGam3r had access to every tool he could possibly need to take care of this person’s car. All he would need to do, is to think about the best way to address the problem.

Should he make it so it doesn’t run? Or, should he attempt to simply wheel it out of the garage himself. After a lot of consideration, he knew what he needed to do, and what tools he would need to do it.

The Day Of The Trip

The day of the trip dawned nice and early. All of his friends grabbed their weekend bags, and proceeded down to the garage to get in his car and hit the open road.

Of course, the sight that greeted them was his car being blocked by his neighbor’s. Not to worry though, he was well-prepared for this. All he had to do was grab a handy tool and get to work on the car. His friends watched with awe.

A Car Jack

When you get a flat tire, you need a car jack to lift up your car to replace the tire. u/AngryAussieGam3r had one for each tire. This meant the car could be lifted up by him and his friends, and then wheeled to wherever they wanted to leave it.

Smiling at each other, all the guys looked down at the tires and began pumping up the jacks. The owner of this car was going to be in for a surprise.

Stealth Mode

Technically what this group of friends was doing wasn’t unlawful. This person had parked illegally, the authorities weren’t helping, and they needed access to their car. u/AngryAussieGam3r did not want anyone to get into trouble though.

As they worked he glanced at the security cameras and kept his eye out for guards. They would have to cover up what they were doing if anyone came by. Nobody wanted their trip to end in a jail cell.

Ready To Go

After working on the car for about half an hour, the seven friends had it lifted up and ready for moving. All they needed to do now was to choose the perfect place to set it down.

u/AngryAussieGam3r had some ideas about where it should go, but he was open to other ideas from his friends. Time was of the essence, so they would need to decide quickly. After some quick discussion, they came to a decision.

A Dark Corner

u/AngryAussieGam3r had a place in mind while everyone was discussing their options, and looking around the parking garage. He knew that it would be a pretty tough spot for them to get the car into, and next to impossible for the driver to get his car out of.

At this point though, he felt like this driver deserved whatever he was about to get. It had been weeks of pure misery for him, and he wanted the driver to know how he felt.

Stuck Between A Pillar And A Wall

There was a far off corner in the parking garage that nobody ever used. Unless you had a smart car, there was no way a regular-sized sedan or compact would be able to parallel park in it. With the help of some car jacks on wheels though, a car could very easily be maneuvered into space.

This was exactly what u/AngryAussieGam3r had in mind. His friends agreed that it was the ideal spot. There was no way this driver was getting away unscathed.

Getting In And Getting Out

The team of friends quickly pushed the car into the spot, in the far off corner of the garage. Once it was in place, they checked to make sure that they had in no way damaged the car. The paint looked good, and the driver would still be able to enter through all of the doors.

The only problem he was going to have was actually driving the car out of the spot. That would be impossible, just as it had been impossible for u/AngryAussieGam3r to get to work on time.

Back And Forth

If you have ever seen the film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, then you will remember the scene where he is trying to drive a golf cart, but gets stuck. He has to drive it forward and backward, moving the wheels incrementally each time in an effort to get free of the tight space.

This is exactly what the driver would have to do unless he hired some professionals to come and move it in the same manner, u/AngryAussieGam3r and his friends had pushed it there.

Time To Go

With a job well done, this group of friends was ready to speed out of the parking garage and never look back. Everyone piled into the car, and u/AngryAussieGam3r put on some road trip music and they were off.

They were all laughing at what they had just done, and were curious to see if the car would be in the same spot when they returned. The joke was no longer on u/AngryAussieGam3r, he had had his revenge, and it was pretty sweet.

Returning To The Scene Of The Crime

After they all returned from the trip, u/AngryAussieGam3r could not help but wander over to where they had re-parked the car. It was exactly where they had left it. The car was stuck in place, and the owner was nowhere to be seen.

He thought that the owner had finally learned his lesson, and waited to see if they would try and contact him. Although, there was no way they could know that he and his friends had done it.

No More Parking Woes

The car was eventually removed, but u/AngryAussieGam3r never got to see it happen. One day it was there, and the next it was not. However, once it was moved, it was never parked in front of u/AngryAussieGam3r spot ever again. We hope this driver learned their lesson because nobody’s life is more important than someone else’s.

We all have places to be, and if parking is a problem that is something you need to address personally, not by ruining someone else’s day.
