Their first public appearance

In June 2011 the couple made their first public debut together when they attended one of the year’s most fabulous occasions, the Royal Ascot. They were subsequently pictured on a number of dates out and about in London. Although a Royal, Princess Eugenie’s title doesn’t demand too many Royal duties. The couple live a socialite lifestyle among Britain’s rich and famous, their wedding’s star-studded guest list is evidence enough!

That wedding dress

Princess Eugenie looked utterly ravishing stunning in her chosen bridal gown. The slightly off the shoulder gown had a V-neck detail on both the back and the front. The dress was designed by Australian Italian Peter Pilotto and Austrian Christopher De Vos. Eugenie’s choice to work with a non-British Designer raised more than a few eyebrows. Foregoing the traditional veil, the Princess wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara – which she loaned from the Queen.

The theme of the wedding

Tying in beautifully with the change in season, the theme of the wedding was autumnal. It’s very rare for a Royal wedding to be themed as some may interpret the motif as tacky or unfitting but the demure decor was tastefully executed. There were elaborate autumnal floral arrangements outside of the Chapel and at the reception. Created by wedding florist Ron Van Helden, the marquee was full of warm colors while even the cake was co-ordinated to fit in with the theme.

Storm Callum

Storm Callum as it was known swept through Britain on the big day. 60 Miles per hour winds welcomed the flustered guests as they made their way inside St George’s chapel. With skirts nearly blowing overhead, many guests were at risk of a potentially humiliating wardrobe malfunction with most using one hand to hold down their dress and the other to keep their hats on. One poor guest had her expensive hat forced from her head due to the wind and had to chase after it – not exactly what we would call royal behavior!

Boozy Affair

It’s not very often you hear of a boozy Royal wedding, but we have reason to believe that this one was indeed an exception, perhaps the Queen skipped the reception? The lucky groom is the European Manager for Casamigos Tequila, a brand of Tequila created by George Clooney and much-loved by mischievous A-listers. Brooksbank personally created a special drinks menu that consisted of Casamigos margaritas and many, many shots of Tequila.

Stealing the show

There were many adorable unplanned moments that happened during the wedding, but this has to be our favorites. Prince Andrew (Princess Eugenie’s father) delivered a speech during the reception. Rumor has it, his speech was hilarious and had everyone in the room crying with raucous laughter. A guest told how the father of the bride made a joke about his son-in-law said, “He recalled that his dog Jack was sitting on a chair and he shouted, ‘Jack, get off! – The dog didn’t move, he said, but Jack Brooksbank shot up and fled.”

Does it fit

When the ceremony reached the climatic moment where the gorgeous pair exchanged their vows to one another, something happened that caused the pair to giggle while in front of the priest. When putting the wedding band on Princess Eugenie’s finger, the ring didn’t seem to fit. In a fluster, and obviously feeling a little embarrassed the lovebirds laughed it off while he wriggled the ring down her finger.

The Prince’s beautiful wives, Kate Middleton and Megan Markle look very grand indeed at the wedding with Kat wearing a deep pink Alexander McQueen dress and Philip Treacy hat. Megan wore a modest navy Givenchy dress and Noel Stewart hat. We now know that Markle is expecting – so the slightly oversized coat is a more understandable choice!

Impromptu Performance

Robbie Williams and his lovely wife Ayda Field attended the wedding to support their close friends, Ferggie and Prince Andrew, as well as cheer on their daughter Theodora Rose Williams (fondly known as Teddy) who appeared as one of the bridesmaids. The British singer reportedly gave an impromptu performance at the reception where he sang some of his greatest chart hits. Ayda caused a stir when she first stepped out of her limo. She attended the wedding, in what seems to be a cream/white dress with accompanied jacket and hat – isn’t the bride meant to be the only one in white?

Mother and sister to the bride wore much more conservative outfits to the wedding than what they would usually tend to wear. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson wore an elegant teal dress by local Windsor company Emma Louise Design. We’re not too sure about the hat, and its wing-like detail but we love that she re-used the Manolo Blahnik bag that her own mother wore to her wedding with Prince Andrew in 1986.

Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice toned it down in a mid-length deep purple Ralph & Russo dress – another guest to wear the designer to the momentous bash. She matched it with this scrunch headband in a lighter purple.
