Sometimes you may not notice that something totally ordinary is actually completely strange when photographed. We’ve all seen the bad panoramas, where an animal or a person has moved at the last second and created a memorable image. For these photos, though, you will see that it is more about the right place at the right time, rather than the right move at the wrong time. Keep scrolling to see some pictures that will have you questioning whether or not these are actually real. We know we weren’t sure for some of them, although, upon closer inspection, these are all totally real.
Looking Forward
In another case of the mysterious dog-headed human, we have one that looks rather like it could be one of the Egyptian Gods. Anubis, the God of the Dead, was always depicted as having the head of a jackal, and this kind of looks like a modern-day rendition.
It may not be Anubis, but it looks like this owner decided to take a nap next to their dog while they sit on the train. We just hope that someone decided to wake them up before they got to their stop; otherwise, they might have had an even longer journey than this one.
Front Or Back
Horses are beautiful creatures. They gallop around pastures and are generally pretty nice animals to be around. For those that love horseback riding, you know how magical it is to go out on the trails and be one with your steed.
For these horses, though, it looks like there might have been a bit of a mix-up. They are almost the exact same shade of chestnut, which means it looks like a horse’s head is coming out of the backside of the horse in front. If we didn’t know better, we would actually think that this was some sort of genetically modified horse.
A Matter of Perspective
Every day hundreds of people pose for pictures where it looks like they are holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. When this woman’s husband changed angles, he noticed how funny his wife looked with all the people posing behind her.
Without her knowing he snapped this picture where it looked like the man behind her was holding her up. She didnt notice the funny pic until she looked online and saw that her husband had posted it to her page for all her friends and family to see. Now every time she looks back at her honeymoon pictures from Pisa, she has this funny gem to laugh at. It just goes to show how important perspective is.
Catching your plane
Well, you may need to take a double-take with this picture. At first, it may look like this giraffe is reaching up and grabbing this light aircraft with his mouth.
But the plane is actually flying quite a distance behind the giraffe. you may think this photograph was perfectly timed, but this photographer was just trying to photograph the giraffes before the plane photobombed his perfect image. Talk about perfect timing!
Lap Dog
Pet owners love having their cats or dogs cuddle up to them. For this owner, they decided to bring their rather large dog on the bus with them. Usually, buses only allow dogs if they are small enough to fit on your lap.
This owner decided to demonstrate that his rather large pup is indeed small enough to sit on his lap and go for a bus ride. The dog is so big that it makes it look like it’s head is actually it’s owner’s head. At least the two are able to keep each other nice and warm, and what looks like a blustery day.
A Rock Concert
Working and living on a farm takes a lot of hard work and perseverance. If there are livestock, like cows, they need to be milked very early in the morning. For cotton, it tends to be picked at night, judging by this photo.
The first look does not make it look like cotton, though. Instead, it looks like the heads of hundreds of people ready to rock out at a giant music festival. The lights are what make it even more intense.
A Fat Cat
This poor cat looks like he is in desperate need of a diet, but actually this is what happens when a cat takes a catnap on a fur coat the same color as his fur. If you look carefully you can see that what looks like this poor kitty’s giant body is actually a fur coat.
This may be a very comfortable place to take a nap, but it makes it look like this kitty has a hilarious giant head. JUdging by the cat’s face, he doesn’t look too impressed by his owners taking pictures of him in such a funny situation. We imagine they couldn’t stop laughing while they took the picture.
An Accident
Glass podiums are pretty neat. They allow the person standing at them to show off their outfit for the entire room to see while still being able to place their papers and notes on the podium in front of them.
Unfortunately, for this presenter, nobody had sat down in their seats yet. The reflection from the chairs in the glass made it appear that he had a bit of an accident before he stood up to give his speech.
Feeling Shy
Now, this may look like a bizarre stain at first, but if you look closely enough you will be able to see that this is actually a picture of the tree canopy from the ground. What makes it so odd is that the trees seem to refuse to touch on another.
This is a strange natural phenomenon called Crown shyness where tree branches refuse to grow into other trees in the forest. The result is a tree canopy with distinct channels between the different trees. There is actually a pretty good reason why trees have evolved like this. If they grew into one another the branches would become tangled and could cause damage to the trees.
Don’t Smile For The Camera
Actor Liev Schreiber has been in multiple movies and has starred on the television show Ray Donovan for half a decade now. He was pictured here with now ex-wife Naomi Watts and their two children.
His body appears to be that of Watts, which makes for a rather strange picture. We have to admit, though, he does appear to have a pretty nice pair of legs, even if they don’t truly belong to him!
Same Same, But Different
Easter Island is known for its giant stone statues of tribal men, that are all lined up along its plains. This statue looks like someone thought about emulating the statues but then opted for a slightly more modern rendition.
On closer inspection, this is actually a giant water cooler, which clearly symbolizes how important they are in the workplace. What is a bit confusing is why this one is sitting somewhere in the middle of the English countryside. The resemblance to the Easter Island statues is pretty uncanny.
Holy Cow
You may think this is one big cow hiding behind that pillar. We suppose it doesn’t help that the cow is peeking around the corner like she is up to no good.
Sadly, in reality, this doesn’t evidence that cows have evolved to be like dachshunds. Instead, it’s actually the head of one cow and the back of another. This hilarious optical illusion must have really confused the farmer for a second. We can’t help but wonder if these cheeky cows purposefully stand like this to freak passers-by.
A Rather Big Puppy
Puppies are unapologetically adorable. This one is a bit strange looking though. It has a tiny head, as you would expect a puppy too, but a giant body. The puppy also looks like it is trying to be particularly ferocious, as another dog comes to sniff it.
This is probably a puppy trying to play with its mom, but instead, the owner captured this picture when the puppy was a bit less adorable than it usually is.
Not Your Usual Breakfast
While this may look like the perfect fried egg with a side of fries, this is actually a restaurant’s unique take on breakfast.
The egg is actually a peach half on a bed of plain yogurt and the fries are really apple slices with cinnamon sugar. Without taking a closer look (and taste) many customers could be confusing this healthy meal with a fried breakfast. It must really confused the brain to bite into this expecting fried potatoes only to get a mouthful of apple.
Icicle Man
Water is one of the most unique substances on Earth. It can come in the form of a liquid, solid, or a gas. When winter rolls around, water tends to materialize into ice, and as it melts and refreezes, a lot of pretty amazing shapes can be formed.
For this one, a deluge of water ran down the roof, and then the temperature dropped, causing it to freeze in the shape of this rather creepy man outside of a window. We would not want to see this staring at us at night.
Human Or Dog?
At first glance, this appears to be a dog with a cool pair of shades just hanging out at a restaurant. In reality, it is a woman’s rather wispy hair that has formed itself into the shape of a dog’s head.
The sunglasses are a nice added touch, but we are pretty sure she never intended to be mistaken for a canine. Perhaps it might be time to style her hair just a tad differently, to avoid this misconception again.
Splish Splash
A popular activity to do in Southeast Asia is to visit elephant sanctuaries, where elephants who have been involved in logging, and circuses find refuge. Here, visitors can opt to feed them, walk with them, or even bathe them.
It is a nice activity, and the funds all go towards conservation. This elephant was enjoying a relaxing bath when the water thrown at it morphed into an elephant’s head. Now, that is a picture-perfect moment.
The House Has Eyes
Old houses have a particular charm about them. The walls have seen hundreds of people walk through them, and untold activities. This house looks like it has seen a lot and is continuing to watch as it ages gracefully.
The eyes, which are actually windows, are rather unnerving, though, as they appear to be squinting. We bet that this house has a very good story to tell, and we wish we could hear it.
Not So Funemployment
Many people go to college for four years or more, depending on what they study. Once you finish college, you usually have some career aspirations that you plan to follow. Maybe you want to become a hotshot lawyer or even a doctor.
This shadow makes it look like somebody graduated and then completely gave up on their dreams. We have to admit, it makes for a pretty sad picture, and we are glad that a real person was not involved in the making of this one. Nobody should ever appear to be in utter despair the way this shadow is.
Angry Car
Old cars are real collector’s items. They come from all over the world, in all shapes and sizes, and in every color under the sun. This one, though, is quite unique in that the lights on the trunk look more like a suspicious face than the lights of a vintage car.
Whoever designed this vehicle must have had a real penchant for vampires, because that is exactly what it looks like. You definitely don’t want to cross this car the wrong way.
The Headless Cat
Cats are pretty wily creatures. One minute they love you, and the next minute they hate you. They only really want affection when they want it, not when you want to give it. For this feline, it appears to be completely headless.
What we think actually happened is that the owner tried to get a nice picture of it, but it decided to lick itself right at that moment. The result is this headless white cat.
A Climbing Cactus
Deserts are beautiful places. During the day, they tend to be blazing hot, and by nightfall, they are brutally cold. This cactus looks like it decided it was ready for a change of scenery, and instead of simply growing some roots in another direction, opted to escape completely.
It did not get very far, though, and now it is perpetually stuck on this rocky cliff face. Maybe in a couple of years, it will actually manage to get to the top of the cliff.
To Infinity And Beyond
Amusement parks offer fun for the entire family. There are rides to suit everyone’s tastes, from Ferris wheels to death-defying roller coasters. This rollercoaster looks like it is not for the faint of heart.
Not only do you get turned upside down, but you also jet right off into the clear blue sky, rather than coming back down to earth. That’s what it looks like. What we actually have here are some well-placed clouds.
Feeling A Bit Nervous
Old light switches come in all shapes and sizes. Some are the easy flick and switch ones we know now, while others are dimmers that can create some very romantic lighting. These little light switches, while being rather dirty, also look like they have tiny worried little faces.
That is all thanks to the screws which are acting like little eyes. The screws even look like they are giving the side-eye, which makes it even more convincing as faces.
A Face In The Snow
When winter hits, usually, a big snowstorm will mark the beginning of it. The fluffy powder settles over everything, and instantaneously transforms the world into a winter wonderland. This parking lot saw many centimeters of snow, which blanketed all three of the cars.
One car though decided to show that it still had some individuality in the form of a face. We wouldn’t say this is the friendliest of faces, but it’s still a face.
Aliens Are Coming
Men In Black definitely made fans believe that aliens could be real and walking amongst us. This picture looks like a flying saucer is just about to land on the street in front of the building. It is actually just a very well-placed reflection from a lamp in a window.
The people out on the street would probably have been freaking out if this was the real deal. It is possible that there are aliens among us, though, who can know for sure!
The Real Deal
For those that are fans of cartoons, you may notice that backpacks and purses tend to have a rather 3-dimensional shape. In reality, those cartoon-like bags don’t tend to transfer very well into real life. Whoever designed these bags is pretty talented, we must say.
They literally look like they have been dropped right out of an episode of The Powerpuff Girls. It would be pretty trippy wearing one of these out for an evening on the town.
Monster Mash
We’ve seen aliens, but now it looks like there is giant ash made the monster in Chile. It could even be Godzilla if you look at it from a distance. This was actually a cloud of ash-filled smoke created from an active volcano in the region.
The billowing smoke materialized into this monster-esque shape. The fiery spurts of lava are what give it those shining red eyes. Whoever captured this picture got it at exactly the right moment. They caught this monster in all of its glory.
The Real GTA
For those who have enjoyed playing the video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA), you will be well-acquainted with many streets in the greater Los Angeles region, and other parts of the world.
This Porsche cruising down an LA street definitely looks like it is about to go on a racing rampage at any moment. It would be pretty hard not to race a sports car like this along some quiet stretches of highway.
