He landed starring roles in TV shows like Me and the Boys and later, The Steve Harvey Show, which had a successful run until 2002. In 2010, Harvey was named as the new host of the wildly popular quiz show, Family Feud. Two years after taking on the role, Family Feud would become the second most-viewed daytime show.

Harvey said, “I ain’t working for me. I’m working for them. I’ve got four full-time jobs for them.” Addressing his seven children, he added, “When I’m done, I want you all to have remembered that somebody cared more about you than himself. And I want you to care more about someone else than yourself.”

The actor concluded, “I will defend your honor until I die. I love all of you.” The audience was silent once again, captivated by Steve’s touching words. “This is what it is for me. This is the greatest moment I’ve ever had. I’m very proud to be your father.”
