Strange Pictures Captured by Google Street View

Strange Pictures Captured by Google Street View

Google Street View is one of the handiest tools out there, and with it, you can explore almost every corner of the populated world. Simply zoom in to any spot on the map, and you can see what the area looks like or take a virtual tour of the neighborhood. All this is made possible with the extensive Street View database that is made up of images taken by Google cars. However, sometimes these high-tech cameras capture more than they bargained for. Keep scrolling to see some of the weirdest Google Street View pictures from every corner of the globe.

Birds

Horse masks were popular, and now bird masks have replaced them. This group of people knew that the Google vehicle was making the rounds, and they decided to create a lasting Google Street View image.

It’s kind of creepy how they are all lined up next to each other like this. It looks like the beginning of a horror movie. We’re sure as the Google vehicles make their way around various countries this year, that even weirder and wacky images will pop-up.

A Casual Tiger

When you look at the image for a diner in a Midwest town, you don’t expect to see any exotic animals. Instead of an empty parking lot, this Street View image showed a tiger casually strolling across a parking lot.

Whoever was missing a tiger clearly forgot to report it that day. What’s even weirder is that no one had noticed the huge tiger casually strolling down Mainstreet.

Hanging Out

If a cottage or cabin is situated close to a road, then the Google car will be able to capture whoever is sitting on the front deck. This vehicle drove by and managed to capture a person dressed up in a bear onesie.

There is no clue as to who this person is, or if it is even a man or woman. They were staring directly at the camera, so they knew that they were being filmed. We can’t help but wonder if they planned to be caught by the Street View camera.

Gone Fishing

Anyone who has spent time doing wildlife photography knows just how difficult it is to capture the perfect shot. Animals do not like to stay still, and they certainly do not like having humans encroach on their habitats.

This bear had decided to go fishing for the day and did not expect to be caught on camera. As the Google vehicle drove by, it caught the bear in a river surrounded by fish, including the freshly caught one in his paws. The bear looks like it has realized that it has been noticed in a candid moment. Hopefully, the vehicle remained unscathed as it continued on its merry way.

Target Practice

Learning how to use a bow and arrow is pretty cool. Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games definitely made boys and girls around the world want to pick up a bow and begin shooting targets.

This duo seemed like they wanted to follow in her footsteps, and instead of simply practicing on a target, this friend wanted a live one. We think that there is an apple placed on top of the friend’s head. The Google vehicle caught the moment right before the bow and arrow were fired. Hopefully, the aim was true, and the apple and not the friend was hit.

Christmas in July

When the Google street car passed this roadside restaurant it managed to catch a peculiar site.

It seems someone really loves Christmas, so much so that they completely decorated their car in Christmas decorations. This convertible buggy has everything from bells to tinsel, and on the back, there is even a Christmas tree. This must be what Santa drives n the weekends.

Jumping for Joy

Now, this guy must really love his job! One day when the Google car was driving through this quiet suburban neighborhood, the cameras managed to capture the joy this landscaper felt. It is possible he struck this funny pose when he saw the Google car passing, or he could really be jumping for joy like this while mowing the lawn.

As you can see from the image he has headphones one, so he could be listening to some really good music. One thing is for sure though, he really got some good height on that jump.

Playing a tune

This pedestrian seems to be playing a tune for the passing cars. While some people may think he is busking, that would only work if he was playing at an intersection or traffic light.

Instead, this guy seems to be performing in the middle of the street between the lanes. Hey you never know, he could just be out for an innocent walk with his guitar.

Runaway

When the mapping car passed this high-end fashion store the last thing anyone thought to look for would be a crawling baby.

But if you look carefully you can clearly see a baby crawling on the sidewalk. This tiny tot must have been making a break for it while his mom shopped inside. Hopefully, someone noticed before things got too dangerous.

License and registration please

This may look crazy, but it’s actually pretty common to see an ostrich on the side of the road in Africa. The problem in this case, however, is that instead of carefully driving passed, this driver decided to stop and say hello.

This was a fatal error because seconds later the ostrich stuck his long neck through the open driver’s window and said hello back. Given that ostrich’s peck for food, this likely ended in tears. Luckily the Google car was there to capture the special moment.

Stuck

Anyone looking up this British street is going to get a real laugh. It seems at the time the Google car passed the area, this homeless man had gotten his head stuck in the opening to this recycling bin.

It seems the man had been trying to steal glass bottles from the bin that he could hand in for the deposit. Luckily it wasn’t long until he was spotted by passersby and the emergency services were alerted. Unfortunately, though the moment will live on in Google maps.

Out for a ride

When people looked at this quiet US street online they couldn’t help but notice this woman’s sweet ride.

It seems instead of walking she decided to take her pony out for a ride and was caught in the process. The funny thing is that the pony is so small that the woman’s feet are barely off the ground. We must admit this pony is pretty cute but it may need a smaller rider in the future.

The Simpson Mobile

This tiny mini cooper is a real gem. It is in great condition despite its age and with the life-size Marge Simpson and Baby MAggie attached to the backseat, it looks like an adorable toy.

Or even better it looks like the Simpsons are out for a drive. The owner must be a real fan of the show to have added this to his vintage car. Luckily for us, this car was photographed by the mapping car for all to see.

Metal Beast

When people saw this weird contraption on Streetview, no one could quite agree on what it was. It sort of looks like it is powered by pedal power, and it seems to be a metal trailer attached to a bicycle.

It almost looks like the trailer has some sort of tiny windows on the side, so it’s possible that this is someone’s house or mobile home. Whatever it is, all that metal must be heavy to pedal out of the way.

Speed Racer

Now, these kids are legends after getting caught by the Google street car going for an unauthorized ride down the street. It seems these tiny street racers were caught red-handed by the cameras cruising the streets without a license.

With no adult in sight, these kids are awfully close to other drivers. These kids must have a real need for speed and now their parents will have this picture as evidence.

This Is The End

This image is slightly ominous. It looks like it should have been taken in Chernobyl, Ukraine, as a man is wearing a face mask in the middle of a forest. He seems to be preparing for nuclear fallout, or some kind of gas attack.

This was probably a hoax solely for the Google vehicle because otherwise, we would have heard about something happening in this area, right? This person is definitely ready for anything, and if they have a gas mask, maybe they have built a bunker somewhere in the forest as well. It never hurts to be prepared.

Awkward Situation

We can’t be sure exactly what happened here, but whatever it was this poor guy seems to be in a difficult situation. Whether he climbed into the bin himself, or if someone put him in there; its clear he is completely stuck.

It’s possible he was put in there by some passing bullies and now his embarrassment can be shared with anyone looking at the view of the street online.

Runaway Horse

Some horses are very wily. They know how to unlock their paddock or stable doors, and then escape from the grounds. This black stallion decided that was precisely what it would do.

It managed to gallop to a country lane, where it’s the owner then found it. The Google vehicle caught the struggle between horse and owner, as the horse refused to be led back to the stable. This looks like a struggle that the rider will not win. That horse is ready for an adventure, and no stall is going to hold it back. We can’t say we blame the horse for wanting to explore the area.

Alien Spotting

Area 51 is where it is thought extraterrestrial beings are being held. Still, according to Google Street View, this little guy is just hanging out in a park somewhere.

Someone must have known that Google was coming to film in the area, and a well-placed tye-dye wearing alien would definitely be a quirky thing for the camera to pick up. On the other hand, this could be a genuine alien sighting. Nobody can know for sure.

Look Carefully

You need to look carefully to see why this picture is hilarious. However, once you see it you cannot unsee it.

While all the human faces have been blurred out for their privacy it seems this kitty didnt get the same treatment. Do you see it yet? If you look carefully at the man in the red top you cannot miss it. Sometimes the Google cars photograph some really strange things.

Smile for the camera

Now, this seems to be a planned attraction. This group of people must have had warning that the Google car was approaching because they seem to have all gone outside and staged this ad hoc performance.

They all have the same key cards around their necks so they must all work together and decided to put on a show for the passing cameras. The guy pretending to be dead on the ground is really showing commitment to the bit.

Iron Man

Some of the funniest Street View images are the ones that have people wearing wacky costumes. If we had to guess, we would say that this is the morning after Halloween.

This person dressed up as Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, for Halloween. After trying to walk home after a long night at a house party, they realized that they needed to take a bit of a nap on this park bench. Now, we know where Tony Stark likes to hang out when he’s not on official Avengers business.

A Water Explosion

It’s a good thing that the cameras Google uses to film the Street Views are waterproof; otherwise, it would have short-circuited when it drove by this fire hydrant. During the summer, some people like to open up the fire hydrants and use them as homemade sprinklers to cool down.

Somebody had cracked this one open, and it began to spray water everywhere. Right as it began to spray water, the camera caught it on tape.

Clean-Up Time

One of the most popular pranks of all-time is to take toilet paper rolls and drape them across a house, and the trees around it. It’s very easy to throw rolls of the white stuff into a tree, and then let tendrils of it hang down.

Cleaning up a house that has been covered in toilet paper takes a lot of time. That is how this Google street car managed to capture this pic of the house mid-clean.

A Samurai Fight

For the anime lovers out there, cosplay is one of the ways that true fans get to show the world who their favorite characters are. This duo had clearly been trying to re-enact one of the famous fight scenes from their favorite series.

They had donned their samurai armor and began wielding their swords as the Google vehicle drove by. It would have been even better if the car had caught one of them mid-swing. This looks like the beginning of an epic battle.

Speed Racer

These men were photographed while they were out for a drive in their vintage automobile. The funny thing is from their faces and driving glasses they look pretty funny.

Its almost like they are concentrating intensely on driving. They couldn’t have been going to fast though because they were captured by the camera clearly.

Dont be Chicken

When people noticed this giant chicken online they couldn’t help but share it. It seems for some weird reason someone dumped a giant fiberglass chicken in this empty lot and it has been there ever since.
Dont be Chicken

Imagine living in the area and having to give a friend directions. You would have to tell them to make a turn at the giant chicken!

Gone Riding

The first bicycles were not the ones that we all use now. Instead, they featured two wheels with a rather large one in the front, and a small one in the back. These bikes were called velocipedes, and would eventually lead to the invention of the bicycles we use today.

This man clearly likes to be on the different side and decided to ride his velocipede around town, with a stuffed animal in its own carrier being pulled behind the bike.

Horsing About

Horsehead masks were trendy a few years back. Everyone would put one on at parties, or take group photos with them. This person saw the Google vehicle coming and knew that this was the perfect time for them to wear one.

They put the mask on and began to slowly walk between the cars like the Google vehicle rolled by. What would have been even funnier, is if they had got down on four legs and pretended to actually be a horse.

A Public Breakup

If this poor guy ever wants to look back on the day his ex-girlfriend dumped him, he can always just Google his mom’s address.

That’s because the cameras passed just as his ex was dumping all his belongings on his mother’s lawn. While breakups are hard, nothing can be harder than the whole world being able to see your dirty laundry online.

Caught in a Sticky Situation

It seems this man was caught in a funny predicament when the street car passed his street. Unfortunately for him, it looks like he got stuck in this manhole the minute the car passed to take pictures.

Now for years to come, he will always be that guy on Google street view stuck in a hole. We cannot imagine what he was thinking when he removed the grate and everything else and climbed inside that small hole. Then again someone else could have removed the grate and he just inconveniently fell in. Poor guy!

Dinner Is Served

Birds are scavengers by nature unless they are the kind that only eats seeds and worms, like sparrows. This bird saw some food being thrown past it, right as the Google vehicle zoomed in on the road.

The resulting picture is one where the bird looks like it is going in for the kill when whatever food that it is about to catch is already very much not alive. That wide-eyed gaze from the bird shows us that it is in for a delicious meal.

Just The Legs

For anyone who has taken a panorama shot, you know how difficult it is to capture the whole scene without any interruptions. A lot of the time, photos involving people will look very strange if the person decided to move at the last minute.

This man began to walk just as the Google vehicle drove by, and now it looks like he has been decapitated at the waist. All we can see are a pair of legs, which makes him look like the torsoless snowmobile rider.

Horse and Buggy

If you don’t know about the Amish communities in America then its possible you are very confused by this picture. It seems that although the Amish usually avoid having their pictures taken, they couldn’t avoid being photographed by the Google car.

The cameras caught them speeding by in the neighborhood while the car was driving. They must have been just as confused by the Google car as we are by them.

All-Purpose Vehicle

In England they have strict road laws about overloading but it seems this lady didnt know about all that.

She was photographed by the Google car with an unsecured load and when the papers published this funny picture the police reached out to Google for an unblurred image of the license plate. Seems you can never escape the long arm of the law.

Living On The Edge

As Google Street View is designed for users to look at roads, more than specific buildings, the views are always from the road, or on them. This man with a motorcycle and sidecar thought that he looked really cool as he drove down the highway.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly until he swerved, and his entire contraption began to topple over. It’s a good thing he is wearing a helmet because he is definitely about to crash.

No Legs

We have seen a torsoless snowmobile rider, but a legless skateboarder is something new. We’re not sure how the Google vehicle managed to capture this skateboarder without legs, because he does not appear to be moving at all.

If you look at the road, you can see the same skateboarder also merely standing. It seems like there was a glitch in the matrix, or the camera on the vehicle picked up the boy a few too many times.

An Unidentified Flying Object

Whether or not aliens exist is still up for debate, but according to this Google Street View image, flying saucers are real.

What precisely this is an image of is impossible to tell. Still, it definitely looks like a spaceship that is emerging from the clouds. If anything was going to catch the first UFO sighting, then it would be Google Street View. However, this is a view of the sky. Maybe the camera needed to be recalibrated.

Scuba Diving

This image is pretty strange. On the map, this street is nowhere near open water, but these men are wearing full scuba gear. They look like there are ready for a day of spearfishing in the deep blue sea.

What makes it funny, though, is that it looks like they are about to engage in some underwater warfare when there is only a parking lot as the setting. Whatever these men are planning to do, they are well-prepared, judging by their gear.

Scarecrows

At first glance, this image is pretty haunting. It looks like a large number of people have gathered in a field for some sort of activity.

In reality, it is actually an art installation in Finland, where hundreds of scarecrows have been placed in this field. If the farmer who owns this land was worried about birds getting into their crops, this scarecrow collection is sure to scare them, and even humans off the land.

Cinderella

A lot of weddings like to incorporate special elements, like the bride and groom arriving in a horse-drawn carriage. Some brides want to feel like they are at their very own royal wedding, or having a Cinderella moment.

If we had to guess, we would say that this Cinderella-themed carriage is on its way to a wedding. Hilariously though, the driver decided to take the highway to get there. Now, this horse-drawn carriage is blocking the road and causing a commotion. This extra slow commute led to a not so royal procession of honking cars that followed the bride almost all the way to the church.

Fire In The Hole

Sometimes there will be an announcement for specific cities or neighborhoods where Google is coming to film and update their mapping system. This van did not get the memo.

It’s unclear how this fire started, but judging by the smoke engulfing it, it has definitely been on fire for some time. You can even see the owner coming out of their house to try and deal with the fiery inferno that the van has become.
