The 50 Strongest DC Characters, Ranked
The depiction of superpowers is maybe the most significant contrast between DC and Marvel. While many Marvel characters are altered or cursed by their abilities, DC Comics superheroes are revered and adored as gods. Both publishers offer superheroes capable of lifting large buildings off the ground, and accomplishing the seemingly impossible. With Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Luke Cage, Marvel excels at street-level vigilantism, but it also boasts the Avengers and an entire galactic armada of characters. In the meantime, DC appears to be churning out all-powerful characters after all-powerful characters, such as Superman and Wonder Woman. As far as groups, DC has the Justice League, Justice Society, Legion of Super-Heroes, the publisher has an abundance of the world’s most powerful superheroes.
50. Superboy (Jon Kent)
Fans have always speculated what would happen if Superman had a child. This concept has been explored in various Elseworld stories. In most cases, Superman’s offspring is an all-powerful person who has the potential to disrupt the superhero game forever.
The truth, however, is quite different. Jonathan Samuel Kent, who debuted with the start of DC’s Rebirth era, is a 10-year-old boy trying to figure out who he is and where he fits within the DC Universe. He’s not a messiah or a scientific monster; he is just a good kid learning to use his abilities for the first time.
49. Hourman
With the use of the medicine Miraclo, the superhero Hourman was able to obtain tremendous power. Hourman was a long-serving member of the Justice Society of America, having been used by Rex Tyler and then his son Rick to become super strong for one hour at a time.
Despite his strength, Hourman was never anywhere near the powerhouse that Superman is regarded as. Hourman loses a lot of points because of the one-hour restriction, but Rick Tyler’s experience behind the scenes makes him a little more dangerous. Nevertheless, the Miraclo medication has become addictive, putting his superhero career in jeopardy.
48. Aquaman
Super strength isn’t something you’d expect to see in someone like Aquaman. He’s mainly connected with his abilities to speak with sea creatures and swim really fast when he’s not being regarded as a ridiculous joke of a superhero. But, how powerful is Aquaman? He’s even been shown to be capable of punching Superman in the face.
Rather than shattering his hand as a normal person would, Aquaman has sent the Man of Steel flying during the New 52 Justice League series’ “Throne of Atlantis” storyline. Superman challenged Aquaman about his ties with the United States in the other incident.
47. Wonder Girl
Many of the most well-known superheroes have sidekicks. Each new sidekick in Wonder Woman appears to be a dilution of the original hero. Cassie Sandsmark is introduced as the daughter of Zeus and a real demigoddess with extraordinary abilities.
She is, however, a little less powerful than Donna Troy due to her age. However, Cassie has grown as a stronger and more effective hero from her tenure as a member of Young Justice to her graduation to the Teen Titans. Wonder Girl, with the power of her future self in the Titans of Tomorrow, has a lot of growth ahead.
